At Peach Dust Collective, we believe in creating beautiful handmade items while caring for our planet. Our products, ranging from laser-engraved wood and acrylics to sublimated items, are crafted with an eco-conscious mindset. While achieving zero waste in our industry is a challenge, we are committed to making sustainable choices wherever possible.
Our products are designed and assembled in-house, allowing us to maintain high standards of quality and care. By producing in-house, we reduce waste by only creating enough of what is needed or ordered, minimizing excess inventory and resource use.
We strive to work with suppliers who adhere to fair labor practices. We are committed to finding and working with partners with ethical standards, including fair wages and safe working conditions.
We source our wood from suppliers who adhere to sustainable forestry practices, ensuring that each piece is harvested responsibly.
Most of our laser products are made with wood-looking materials but have an MDF core. This is a more sustainable option while still providing the aesthetic of natural wood.
Our acrylics are chosen for their durability to prevent the need for frequent replacements which helps minimize waste over time.
We are continuously seeking out the most eco-friendly options available.
Due to the nature of sublimation and the limited availability of sublimation-friendly materials, it remains a challenge to find fully sustainable options. However, we are committed to sourcing the most eco-friendly versions available and continuously improving our practices. We strive to balance quality with environmental responsibility with each material we use, and continually seek ways to minimize our carbon footprint.
We understand the importance of eco-friendly packaging and have made significant strides in this area:
Our packaging materials are sustainably sourced and eco-friendly. We use recycled, recyclable and/or compostable materials to ensure that our packaging has the smallest environmental impact possible.
Packaging Tape. Our tape is made from paper. Unlike the traditional plastic tape, paper tape is biodegradable and can be recycled along with the box.
Clear Bags. Our clear bags are compostable, meaning they break down naturally and return to the earth without leaving harmful residues. This is a significant improvement over traditional plastic bags, which can take hundreds of years to decompose.
Honeycomb Wrapping Paper. We use this as an alternative to bubble wrap. This material is made from kraft paper and provides protection while fully being recyclable and biodegradable.
Tissue Paper. Our tissue paper is 100% recycled.
Compostable Mailers. Our polymailers are compostable. They offer the same durability as traditional plastic mailers but are much kinder to the environment.
We are constantly researching and implementing new packaging solutions to further reduce our environmental footprint.
For full disclosure, our car freshie scent drop bags are currently not compostable. We use the current packaging to secure and protect our scent drops from possible leakage, but we are actively searching for an eco-friendly alternative.
These bags are durable, and we encourage you to reuse them for a variety of purposes to reduce waste.
While our goal is to minimize plastic use, we believe in reducing waste wherever we can. In the rare occurrence that we receive individually packaged plastic items, we make sure to repurpose them instead of discarding. This way, we give them a second life and reduce their environmental impact, staying true to our goal of minimizing waste wherever possible.
While it’s impossible to be entirely zero waste in our business, we are proud of the steps we have taken and continue to take. We acknowledge our imperfections and strive for continuous improvement.
